Before your appointment
- Book early
- October, November, and April fill up fast. Booking holds your bay time.
- Bring
- Your wheel lock key, if your wheels have one. Leave it in the cup holder.
- Re-torque
- Come back after 50 to 100 km and we re-torque the wheel nuts for free.
- Prices
- All prices plus HST. Storage is paid at the start of the season.

The shop
First Frost is a two-bay tire and brake shop on Dunlop Street. Most of the year we do brakes, alignments, and repairs. In the fall and spring we swap tires from open to close.
Every swap includes a brake check and a tire pressure set. We tell you what we see and you decide what gets done.
Tire questions
When should I put winter tires on?
Once daytime temperatures stay under about 7 degrees, or before the first snow, whichever comes first.
Do I need new sensors?
If your car has tire pressure sensors and your winter wheels do not, we can add them. We will tell you the price before we start.
How long does a swap take?
About 30 minutes on rims. You can wait in the shop or drop the car off.
