How insurance claims work here
A claim can feel like a maze. Here is what happens, in order, and who does each step. If anything is unclear, call and ask.
1
You
Make sure everyone is safe
Then take photos of the damage and the scene, and swap insurance details with the other driver.
2
You
Call your insurer
Open the claim and get a claim number. Tell them you want your car repaired here.
3
Us
Free estimate
Book a time. We inspect the car, write the estimate, and send it to your insurer.
4
Your insurer
Approval
An appraiser reviews the estimate, sometimes in person, and approves the repair.
5
Us
Repair and updates
We order parts and repair the car. You get an update at each stage.
6
Your insurer
Payment
Your insurer pays us the approved amount directly.
7
You
Pick up
Walk around the car with us, pay any deductible, and drive home.
Your choice of shop. Your insurer may suggest a shop, but in Ontario you can choose where your car is repaired. Tell your insurer which shop you picked.

Questions
Do I need an estimate before I call my insurer?
No. Call your insurer first to open the claim, then book an estimate with us.
How long will the repair take?
It depends on parts and damage. We give you an expected date with the estimate and update you if it changes.
Do I have to report the accident to police?
In Ontario, collisions with injuries or over $2,000 in total damage must be reported to police or a Collision Reporting Centre. Your insurer can tell you what applies to you.
