Your child's first haircut

Book a weekday morning if you can. It is quieter, and little ones are usually happiest early.

Sit with them, or let them sit on your lap. A favourite toy or snack helps.

We start with scissors and a spray of water, and only use clippers if they are comfortable.

We save a lock of hair for you and take a photo if you like.
First cuts take as long as they take. We book extra time so nobody feels rushed.

The shop
Little Chair is a three-chair family shop in a Whitby plaza. Kids, teens, parents, and grandparents all get the same care.
We keep a booster seat, a few toys, and plenty of patience at every chair.
Questions
What age can my child have a first haircut?
Whenever you are ready. Many families start somewhere between 1 and 3.
Do you use clippers on toddlers?
Only if your child is comfortable with the sound. Scissors work fine too.
Can teens choose their own style?
Of course. Bring a photo and we will talk through what works.
